Polynesia: “An island as warm as hopeful tenderness as a desert that caresses with clouds of feathers”.

It is one of the easternmost territories of the Pacific and over time it has undoubtedly become one of the main tourist destinations in the Pacific Ocean. It includes around a hundred islands divided between some distinct archipelagos; the main and only island with an area above 1,000 square kilometers is Tahiti, where the capital is located.

The climate is tropical, with a hot and humid season between November and April in which rainfall is concentrated, while temperatures remain rather constant around 25-26° on average throughout the year.

The Islands of Tahiti enjoy a tropical climate and the peak hours of sunshine are 3,000 per year in the Tuamotu Atolls, this makes Polynesia among the places with the most hours of sunshine world sun! The temperature, which is rather constant, is refreshed by the Pacific trade winds that blow all year round.

French Polynesia offers places of surprising beauty, the archipelago has always been the archetype of the tropical paradise. Some of its islands are considered among the most dreamed of and exclusive exotic destinations on the planet.

ACTIVITY:

  • Vanilla Farm Taha'a: is known as the Île Vanille – Vanilla Island – where the most sought after vanilla pods in the world are grown. Explore a vanilla plantation, see how the vanilla flowers are pollinated by hand and how the beans are dried in the sun with loving care.

  • Pearl Far: Tahitian pearls are special and unique. Visit a pearl farm and learn how they are cultivated, sometimes for years, before being transformed into fascinating jewels.

  • ATV Quad Tours: 4x4 excursions on Taha'a or Raiatea will let you see the other side of the islands, their majestic valleys and tropical foliage. Go back in time and discover the sacred Taputapuatea marae, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

  • Diving: The warm waters of Tahiti have some of the best diving spots in the world. They are particularly famous for their abundant marine wildlife. Immerse yourself in the world of silence and magnificent beauty around Taha'a and Raiatea, inside or outside the lagoon.

  • Water Activity: The lagoon is your playground and there are so many ways to enjoy it! A jet ski tour, fishing expedition, boat ride or kayak ride upstream through the jungle of Raiatea's Faaroa River. On site at Le Taha'a by Pearl Resorts, you will find non-motorized water toys such as stand up paddle boards and kayaks, which remain available to our guests.
